Voltaren Emulgel Extra Strength Gel 2% is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation in the body. The active ingredient diclofenac diethylamine is a cross-linking agent that enhances the activity of enzymes in the body known as cyclooxygenase (COX). This gel helps the gel to penetrate deeply into the skin and remain there for a longer time. The active ingredient (diclofenac) diclofenac diethylamine is a topical NSAID which works by reducing swelling and pain from conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the condition being treated and the patient's age, weight, medical condition, and response. The amount of gel needed depends on the type of injury and the patient's condition. The duration of treatment can vary from a few weeks to several months.
